About me
I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the Vision Sciences & Memory Lab at New Mexico State University (NMSU), working under the advisement of Dr. Michael Hout, on projects spanning visual attention, and visual and anomaly search.
I recently earned my Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from NMSU, where I investigated visual sustained attention and decision-making with Dr. Megan Papesh (now at UMass Lowell).
I hold dual B.S. degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Southern Utah University (2018)—because why not? During my master’s studies at NMSU, my research focused on the effects of acute pain on learning and memory, as well as strategies to reduce pain perception. I also earned a minor in Applied Statistics.
After graduating in 2020, I worked as a research statistician in the Impact of Physical Activity on Health (IAPS) Laboratory at the University of Toulon (France). There, I collaborated on diverse projects aimed at optimizing sleep, physical activity, and nutrition in both healthy and clinical populations.
In 2022, I returned to NMSU to complete my Ph.D. and joined Dr. Papesh's lab. During this time, I served as the lab manager for the Eye-Movement, Memory, and Attention (EMMA) Lab, mentoring undergraduate research assistants and leading various research projects. I also taught several courses, including Psych and the Brain, Memory, and Developmental Psychology.
